This Shelby Cobra is a CSX4000 continuation model that is #39 of the 40 examples produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Shelby American. The car is finished in Anniversary Blue with Wimbledon White stripes over black leather and is powered by a 482ci V8 mated to a Toploader four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include an aluminum body, a steel frame, a tubular grille guard and trunk bumper, a roll-hoop, side exhaust pipes, and Carroll Shelby-branded AutoMeter instrumentation as well as a fire suppression system, a Boomerang GPS theft deterrent system, Baer four-wheel disc brakes, an adjustable coilover suspension system, 15″ Shelby Trigo knock-off wheels, and Goodyear Eagle tires. The car was acquired by the owner in January 2022. This CSX4000 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a fitted car cover, manufacturer’s literature, spare badging, a copy of the manufacturer’s statement of origin, build process photos, and a clean Nevada title listing the car as a 2003 assembled vehicle with a 1965 Shelby model name.

The aluminum bodywork is mounted to a tube-frame chassis and is finished in Anniversary Blue with Wimbledon White over-the-top stripes. Equipment includes a chrome roll-hoop, hood scoop, side-exit exhaust pipes, a tubular grille guard and trunk bumper, a left side mirror, and a Lemans-style fuel cap. The side pipes are said to have been ceramic coated during current ownership. There are rock chips on the rockers and rear quarter panels behind the tires.

Staggered-width 15″ Shelby Trigo wheels are mounted with knock-off spinners and wear Goodyear Eagle tires with raised yellow lettering. The car is fitted with adjustable coilovers at all four corners, and stopping power is provided by Baer four-wheel disc brakes. A spare wheel and tire are included in the sale.

Low-back bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and joined by a color-coordinated leather-wrapped dashboard, door cards, and carpets. Equipment includes a fire suppression system, Boomerang GPS theft deterrent system, an SPA shift lift, a dash-mounted mirror, foot box vents, tinted sun visors, Simpson racing harnesses, driver’s shoulder harness, a chrome handbrake, and a reverse lock-out shifter. A Carroll Shelby signature is visible on the glovebox door, and a set of 40th Anniversary floormats are included in the sale.

The Shelby plaque denotes this car as a CSX4000 40th Anniversary continuation example with serial number CSX4339.

The removable three-spoke steering wheel has a 40th Anniversary horn button and sits ahead of a Carroll Shelby-branded AutoMeter 8k-rpm tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, and an analog clock as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 2,200 miles, approximately 100 of which were added during current ownership.

The aluminum 482ci FE V8 was built by Stuart VanDyne of Huntington Beach, California, and features an aluminum intake manifold and a single Holley carburetor housed within an aluminum “turkey pan” air box.  Equipment includes a Fluidyne aluminum radiator with an electric fan as well as a Moroso oil accumulator and pre-oiler, electronic ignition, MSD ignition wires, polished valve covers, and tubular headers. The valve cover gaskets are said to have been replaced in 2022.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The 23-gallon fuel cell is said to have been replaced during previous ownership.

The Shelby Statement of Origin lists the delivery date, selling dealer, series, and chassis number.
